Sharing our work & our lives!

Winter Cabin Collection is a collaborative effort between the two of us :illustrator Mary Kate McDevitt, and maker Fred DiMeglio. In 2012, we were asked to create a holiday window display for Wanderlust Vintage, a shop in Portland Oregon. Rather than just create a setting for the shops products, our inspiration led us to create an original line of products to be displayed along with them.

The cozy atmosphere of a remote cabin is the driving imagery, and through our work we hope to bring this warmth into every home that our products touch. We collaborate on concepts for products with a focus on materials, fun phrases, and new constructions techniques. Mary Kate then creates letters by hand, which are silk screen printed onto a variety of different materials such as wood, fabric and slate by Fred in our Brooklyn, New York studio space.

Fred DiMeglio is a maker and silk screen printer. He prints on Winter Cabin Collection's products by hand, and also runs his own printing business called Man vs Ink. He specializes in handmade bandanas which he hand dyes and discharge prints.
Mary Kate McDevitt

Designer, Owner, Illustrator

Mary Kate McDevitt creates all of the illustration and type by hand for the Winter Cabin Collection. She also freelances as a hand letterer and has worked for clients such as Nintendo, Oprah Magazine, and Penguin Books.
